A Follow Up & More!

After thinking about all of the time I wasted the last week posting about what kind of content would be found on this blog, it occurred to me that the last two posts were not entirely accurate.  While they did a good job of describing my interests and gave me several topics to discuss here, obviously, there is going to be more to discuss than what those few topics covered.  I'll be sure to comment on anything interesting that I do or come across, be it in reality or online (I am a fairly active denizen of the internet, after all).  After a few posts, I'm sure my readership (which I still believe to be at 1) will begin to understand.  Expect the unexpected.

A map point out where the guns were located in relation to Pointe du Hoc.

I also wanted to mention one quick thing - a D-Day tradition of mine.  While it really isn't much, every year I always play the Pointe du Hoc mission in Call of Duty 2, which is based on the true story of U.S. Army Rangers climbing the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, a cliffside near Omaha Beach, in search of 105mm guns Allied Command suspected would be used  to shell Omaha.  When the Rangers reached the top of the cliffs, they realized the guns weren't present.  Instead they had to fight their way into the nearby town and find the guns hidden away in some hedgerows.  The mission depicts this fairly well, and while it isn't much, I feel just doing this at least keeps the memory of those men alive a little longer.

The first part of the mission for anyone interested.

Oh, and have some Rolling Stones.  This is one of their earlier songs.  Enjoy.
