It is done. I am finally prepared to reveal my revamped blog to the public. Welcome my children to Blizzard of Kozz. If you are reading this for the first time, welcome. Content on this blog varies wildly. My main areas of interest, if the header wasn't descriptive enough, are the NHL, gaming, tech, music, film, and history. For the most part, posts will consist of material related to these topics, be it simply passing along articles or videos I feel are worth sharing, or adding my snide commentary to news about said topics. My life will also be mentioned from time to time, but who reads a blog to learn about the boring life of the author? A lot of people? Whatevs.
Actually I've been pretty committed to making some significant changes in my life as of late. I've taken it upon myself to break my habit of being lazy and unmotivated. I aimed to accomplish this by beginning to work out over the summer to give myself a goal and motivational tool. So far it's worked splendidly. I don't know if I should eventually expect physical results, but mentally each workout does a lot for me. I will make a post detailing this more at some point in the future, but I'm not quite sure yet. I'm not promising any more articles like I did last year because 90% of them never came to fruition. If I can actually get some people to read the reborn blog I might actually keep up with it this time and write some articles from time to time whenever I'm bored (hence the revamp), but that remains to be seen.
To be continued after the break
To symbolize this change in my mindset, I decided to get a different haircut for the first time since likely before high school Because it's a new me and stuff. It's really weird seeing yourself after being used to a certain look for so long. You don't recognize yourself for the first few seconds looking into a mirror. But I like it and it really does make me feel like a different person, as strange as it sounds. How does it look? It didn't occur to me until after the operation was complete, but I believe that I'm going to try to go for a look I'm calling "The Ted Mosby."
I've been watching HIMYM wayyy too much lately. Blame Netflix. |
....Getting back on track, the right side of the page are several ways to explore the blog and my interests. The top right contains a search bar and articles that are apparently popular on the blog. Not sure how, but moving on. I also have listed the games and shows I'm currently playing/watching, because they might prompt me to write something and also serve as recommendations. If I can figure out how to turn them into links for more information, that'd be great, but I'm not quite sure yet if it's feasible. The archive should be self explanatory. I made several posts in the last few days to give a sample of what more posts might look like in the future. Obviously they vary in length and content. And in a way I don't remember I added a Penguins newsfeed back in the day. Neat stuff.
As for new features for my returning reader(s), I have added my personal Twitter feed and a second feed consisting of most of the accounts I follow on Twitter. This was mostly because I thought it looked cool. I also added a translate feature that allows the blog to be displayed in other languages via the magic of Google Translate. This was also done more for form than function.
For some more information on the rebirth of the blog formerly known as K-Squared into Blizzard of Kozz, my previous post on the subject will waste five more minutes of your life. This also includes an explanation of where the name comes from. Good stuff.
I also made some posts wayyyyy back at the beginning further detailing my interests. They are long and old, so view at your own peril. They can be found below.
Captain's Log Part II
Captain's Log Part III
A Follow Up & More!
I should note that a Captain's Log Part I does exist but is irrelevant. View at your own peril. I feel like this is like the fifth time I've posted these links on this blog. It's been a year so I'm not too sure. I'm planning for this to be the last time. The last hurrah. The comeback tour.
It's good to be back.
Daddy's home.
